Tuesday, May 5th and Wednesday, May 6th
Today we are continuing with body structures of mammals. We are also going to compare mammalian body systems to frog body systems.
Due Today: Amoeba Sisters Body Systems Scenarios
If you were absent: Please go the following website and view the powerpoint. Please use the information in the powerpoint to fill out the frog (amphibian) section of your flipbook and use the human body systems powerpoint to fill out the circulatory / respiratory section. You will need to use the textbook pgs. 935-937 to fill out the integumentary information for mammals.
Upcoming Due Dates: Your COMPLETED flipbook is due no later than Monday, May 11th (Red day) or Tuesday, May 12th (Gold day). If your book is not complete by the due date, you CANNOT participate in the frog dissection. Completed books include:
1. The function of each body system in both frog and mammals. 2. A complete list of the structures and their functions for the mammal side. 3. a detailed, labelled, colored diagram for each mammalian and frog body system. (can be printed or hand-drawn. If printed the diagram must be sized to fit the space in your flipbook._ 4. A list of similiar/same structures found in frogs as in mammals on the frog structures section for each body system. 5. A list of different structures AND a description of their function found in frogs in the frog structures section for each body system.
Friday, May 1st (A-Red) and Monday, May 4th (B-Gold)
Today we learned about the 11 body systems, and studied 6 in depth--the ones you will be responsible for in the dissection of the frog.
Due Today: Comparison of bird and human bone structures.
Homework: Do the 3 scenarios on the back of the amoeba sisters body systems worksheet--Due Tuesday (Red classes) and Wednesday (Gold classes)
If you were absent:
1. Please view the amoeba sisters video and complete the front and back of the worksheet. The video is linked below and you may print a copy of the worksheet from the button below.
2. See Mrs. Caldwell for paper to make a 6 tab foldable for the body systems. You will need to copy the information for the digestive, excretory and muscular systems from a classmate. You are responsible for drawing the pictures for homework.
